What We Believe

Distinctives

Rock Creek is “lovingly Reformed”, which means we hold as precious certain Biblical truths which were central to the Reformation period of Church History, but we hold these truths in Love. Rock Creek is committed to Expository Preaching.  We have a “family friendly” worship style and church calendar. The Lord is doing something good at Rock Creek. We hope that you will be a part of it!

It is by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, that we are saved yet not that faith which is alone.  It will be accompanied by works of faith in love for God.

Rock Creek Baptist Church is affiliated with Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention (national).  Through these and other cooperative efforts, we participate through giving and personal work in the fulfillment of Christ’s Great Commission: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Mt 28:19-20)

Notice that the the word teach appears twice in His commission to the church. We at Rock Creek believe we must teach ALL he commanded, not just the popular portions of scripture. Unless we do so, we have not obeyed His Commission. The early Church in its pristine state was described in this way: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Act 2:42)  We have not arrived, but we pursue this New Testament pattern of church life at Rock Creek.

You are invited to seek the Lord with us.

“Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.” (Ps 105:4)
